Floppy hats ♡

Miu Miu

To continue with my "what's in" talk, this time I choose purses, accessories and shoes.

When it comes to purses, bags, I am always very picky. Since I am known for having big bags with a "narnia" situation going in it, I need a big, spacey bag.
I just recently accepted to go out in the evening with smaller bags, you know - practical for the clubs and bars, less chance to loose anything.

Alexander Wang

But this season appears that the era of carrying your bag hanging from your arm has left us. Carrying it in hands or on your shoulder is in and if that doesn't work for you, cagy it in your arms, against your chest, like carrying mail or some papers.
The colors of those bags is definitely blue and all shades of it.

Another popular color is red, mostly wine red, and it goes for accessories as well.
I am a big fan of that color, specially on the lips as you may have noticed.
So, as you can see in my styling picked out for today, I bought this red adidas sporty bag, with some 70's look-alike elements on the stripes.
It's perfect, has many pockets and a zipper which has been always a problem with my bags.

Jeremy Scott

Speaking of the 70's - it has been one of the themes of this SS fashion show of Tommy Hilfiger, Jeremy Scott, Acne, etc…
I like the Jeremy Scotts one ready to wear SS. It was fun and of course the 70's which I love. The fall/winter one for this season on the other hand, I don't know... Didn't form an opinion yet, sure there are some really fun pieces, But not sure I would quite wear them.

Hunter
As far as it considers  the boots, the rain boots seems will be hanging around another season, and I definitely suggest the HUNTER rain boots. I have a pair of those, black-shiny, and they are summer comfy. I really tried to wear cheaper ones, but it was simply killing my feet. Now I sound like those annoying top-shop commercials "and that's not all, if you call right now you will get this amazing set for free", no, ha-ha. I just really simply adore them.

Burberry

And HUNTER has mad by now such a wide collection of all sorts of rain boots.
Also Valentino, MiuMiu and the unforgettable Burberry ones are super stylish, but I don't own those so I couldn't possibly tell you about their comfort, but I BET it's fine, ha-ha.

But searching through Vogue.it favors, I certainly pick the Gsix Workshop  PVC transparent ones. They look super fun.

Now speaking of fun, I played a little bit of dress-up again, wearing this black floppy hat which I adore, altho I would love to finally find a nice, simple, old-school bretton. Or, when i think about it, the fedora hat wouldn't be that bad too.

P.S. girls, type of hats, a little reminder ;)

I chose to pair it up with this 'The Simpson' cat Snowball cropped long sleeved t-shirt I got in Milano and my dear leather ZARA baggy pants.
It all goes very well with a nice leather jacket on top. One more piece that can't get away from us.

A Showroom ♡

Now, let's talk about my choice for the day.

The white cropped 90's top is actually my moms, and I think it's from the 90's cause I remember being little and she was wearing it.

The high waist jeans are from bershka or something similar. I simply adore high waisted pants lately, something very chick about them.

My fluffy coat is from SISLY, and I already wrote about it, and it's last years. Specially now in those windy cold days, this baby is a savior and especially in the night hours. And besides, you can go with something blank underneath, through that on the top and BAM- you have an outfit, ha-ha.

Oh my nikes, I didn't wear them since I bought them like two years ago, or even more, and now I can't get out of them. Super comfy as well.

.

Going through my pictures I realized I need to accessorize more, well, the fact is, I lost most of my jewelry or it got really washed out to the point it got green.
So I need to renew my accessorize draw.

When talking about accessorizing I remembered that I forgot to mention my totally adorable cap which my boyfriend can't stand, haha. And I got it in this super cute shop A SHOWROOM that I mentioned in the previous post.

So you get how adorable the shop is I am gonna share some pictures of it, so you understand how thrilled I am to get to use the space and clothes.

I was really relieved when the girl working there replied positively to my question or better say suggestion of collaboration.

They are interested in meeting as many young artist as possible and give everyone a chance, so they get to do a variety of different things.

It's a really cool and smart thing to do. And most of the shops should think in that direction, cause in the end you are helping each other.
One has forgotten how much worth  the pictures are, a good quality picture with a great idea in the background. Let's not forget that the kids really in to this business, including me, carries around some expensive equipment  which gets considered later in the price of course.

So helping each other out and giving each other a chance isn't a bad idea after-all, specially when there as so many talents out there, ready to be discovered and ready for you to give them a chance.

Seeking for inspiration - LX factory

I have probably mentioned before the LX factory, but in case I haven't it's the most visited art center in Lisbon. Here one can enjoy and attend various cultural events and live performances, shop or simply have something to eat in one of the lovely cantinas.

LXFactory in Lisbon, was born in the place of the former industrial complex of fabric and thread companies  “Companhia de Fiação” e “Tecidos Lisbonense”.

The factory is also called "creative Island" and it also offers entertainment in the night hours being open till 4 am.

I really liked the place and instantly found a few interesting shops with whom I will cooperate meaning they were so kind to give me access to their shop and use it for the photoshooting and they also offered their clothes which are by the way ADORABLE.

In the factory you can also find two (if I am not mistaken)  photographic studios which was a total jackpot for me. Unfortunatelly I am gonna speak to the tomorrow and ask for equipment rental which I herd is possible.

You also have the opportunity to participate to some creative workshops/classes from designing clothes to photography and video.

They also have a model agency, so I hope I will be able to get a model too and I need them really badly.

There are other shops of course, such as many interesting vintage-retro shops with a crazy collection of items from the 50's on.

As I mentioned you can also eat in restaurants such as burger factory or sushi factory (haven't been there yet but I set my eyes on it) and some small cute places that offers you some delicious cake whit a cup of coffee or tee.

Everything is simply adorable, I got inspired right away and here the graffitis covering the walls played a great part.

I also had a chance to see some cool art exhibitions, it's incredible I am telling you, even the corridors inside the factory space are covered with art, different type of it.

I hope I will take out the most of it and write a great diploma work.

Skin tones

Since I am getting more and more serious about my profession, my diploma is a step away, but then it  comes the time to get something out of my training, education  and  earn something already. You know, start a life out of it.
So, as I am interested in many different fields of thins industry, I searched and gathered new informations  going on from the lenses, cameras and light world to the stylist world.
And I realized there is much to be learned.
It's time to expand my number of equipment and this time I know exactly what I need (it was about time).

As far as it goes for styling part, well, I didn't know a lot of it ether, I mean I probably heard of it of course, but didn't know how for example, how important was your skin tone for clothing and make-up, I mean, when I look at a person, taking in consideration her personal style, I just imagine what would fit her the best, always thinking of her hair and eyes color of course, but not in that "professional" kind of way I've red about.

Then, the list of fabrics and what each fabric gives you is also very important and necessary to know.

It's like you know things, but once you go on reading words coming out professional's mouth, you kind of get the feeling that you are not quite there yet.

But oh well, I think those words are to be taken in consideration, and know as many informations as possible, so that when the time comes for some job applying or a simple conversation, you will definitely remember those things, might be handy after all.

So, about skin tones. I did notice that in some colors I do look fresh and better than in the others, and that some colors are just not for me, not cause I would be picky or whatsoever, I love all colors, but they simply don't fit.

And this time I learned a lil something about the skin tones.
And remember, skin tones does not mean color of your skin, that is different and for that we have the Fitzpatrick skin typing test who is still used as a tool in dermatology research in the skin color.

Skin tones from the other side, can be warm or cool and sometimes neutral, in that case - most color work.
They can also be classified with the names of the season, like summer and winter which are two types of cool tones, and spring and autumn which are two types of warmer skin tones.

So, I am gonna share with you a few scathes I found who will explain perfectly all you need to know about using the right colors according to your skin tone.

Colors that go with almost every skin tone are bright red, pale pink, eggplant and teal.
Here you have a quiz who can help you figure your skin tone. There also a trick with the gold and silver surface. You place one hand next to the gold one and other one to the silver one. On a cool skin tone, the white metal (silver) will be flattering, while the yellow metal (gold) will clash. On a warm skin tone, the gold will be the more flattering of the two.

Another funny information I must share with you guys - funny fashion laws from around the world (p.s. probably made in the 18th or 19th century, cause this couldn't possibly apply  in todays world).

There are all sorts of funny rules, such as
in Victoria, Australia, women are not allowed to wear hot pink pants after midday on Sundays or In Thailand, a law says that you may not leave your house without wearing underwear. How do they know? (good question)
Do you think one knew all of these silly rules?! Ha-ha.

Later I also came across some interesting fashion facts, like about the meaning of the word vintage. People tend to use that terminology quite often, including myself, but the fact is that a clothing item is considered vintage if it dates from 1920 to 1960. After that date, an item is considered to be retro, not vintage.
Or that the medieval clothing was cut geometrically to avoid wasted fabric, the patterns were made up of triangles and rectangles or that men were the first to wear jewelry as a status symbol. I mean, I knew it was a status symbol, but not that men initiated it.
